It is important to protect your skin from the sun – which is the #1 cause of pre-mature aging and can lead to skin cancer. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen of atleast SPF 30+ (and reapply atleast every 2-3 hours). Wear UV-filtering sun glasses and wide-brimmed hats. Limit sunexposure between 10am – 4pm (when sun’s rays are the strongest).
WEAR SUNSCREEN EVERY SINGLE DAY
The skin on your face and body should be cleansed, moisturized and protected every day.Hygiene is vital to healthy skin as pollution, germs and harsh climatic conditions can compromise skin barrier functions. Use gentle products, limit bath time and use warm or cool water, pat dry skin, moisturize to lock in hydration, protect with sunscreen & amp; exfoliate skin 1-2 times per week to rid dead skin.
BE CONSISTENT WITH A SKINCARE ROUTINE SUITABLE FOR YOUR SKIN
What we put inside our bodies, reflect they way we feel and look. A healthy diet balance consists of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean high-quality proteins, and healthyfats. Drinking lots of water helps the body function properly and improves skin health and appearance. As well as minerals, vitamins and phytochemical found in our foods that help to maintain and carry out processes in the body and promote beauty benefits to the skin.
EAT A HEALTHY BALANCE DIET
Sleep is essential to every process in the body. During sleep, the body repairs itself from the day and recharges for another day. Adequate sleep of atleast 7-9 hours (for adults) can lower inflammation (a big factor in skin conditions), promote a stronger immune system, among other things. For the skin, collagen is produced leading to plumper and less wrinkly skin, blood circulation is boosted giving healthy glowing skin complexion.
GET ENOUGH SLEEP
Stress – whether acute or chronic – can have negative effects on the skin’s health and appearance. Heightened levels of cortisol hormones weaken the immune system, impair skin’s barrier function and increase oil gland activities, these lead to sensitive and reactive skin. Stress is associated with skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, eczema and even hair loss. Adapt strategies to manage your stress levels such as meditation, exercise/ sports, yoga, deep breathing, therapy, unwind with hobbies, etc.
